Our Blogger Picks!

Do you follow us on Instagram? Been seeing stylish fashionistas sporting Ellysage apparels and wondered how you can get your hands on them too? Well.... just for you fashion hungry stylistas, we created a Bloggers Pick section awhile back so you can browse and shop them on one single page! Here are some of our favourite selections from our Bloggers Pick page. :)

Nobody ever gets tired of cats, and this pullover proves it! With two adorable shades of pink and blue, and cute kitty faces printed all over the comfy pullover. Brenda pulls this pullover off (pun intended) flawlessly by pairing it with a pair of denim short and some casual sneakers! It's perfect for a lazy Sunday brunch with some friends!

Twirl like a princess in the perfect girly dress that every girl needs! We love how it looks on Joanna! Doesn't she just look great? This dress is a one-stop option for any day out. No need to worry about piecing an outfit together.

This pullover might just be one of the sweetest ones we've ever released! *winks* Cute pullovers are always a must-have. They never fail to add a pop of colour and life into your wardrobe! We love how Hui Yi dressed this pullover with a pair of simple denim shorts. An everyday look that's quite great for most days!

A simple understated dress is the simplest of all, and the easiest to wear. Our Cathleen Sherlock Holmes Dress features a flared skirting, a smart collar and long sleeves. So it's all up to you to dress it up or dress it down! Shenny chose to wear hers with a little black belt, adding a girlier, more defined touch.

To say this top is a staple is an extreme understatement! The simple fit, stripes and comfort of this top are just some points to name. Whether you choose to pair this top with a simple denim short or some torn boyfriend jeans, you'll never go wrong. Joanna wore this top with some shorts and basic sneakers - a simple and easy look for any day. And plus, it comes in 3 elementary colours!

To The Land Of Crumpets! | Ellysage Goes to London #BTS

We know you've been wondering.. how did we manage to do a shoot in London? We received so many questions on our Ask.fm that we decided to write a longer blog post for it!

Our co-founder, Sam, was travelling to the lovely city of London for personal reasons, when it just so happened that our model, Gwen, and her up-and-coming videographer friend Rizza were dropping by too! It didn't take much for the ideas to start flowing. Thus began the exciting journey to create a the Ellysage Goes to London Lookbook!

If you have yet to watch it, show us a little love and click on the little play button right below!

Ellysage London Lookbook from RZZ Productions.

Prior to the shoot, Gwen popped by our office to collect some outfits that the team prepared for our lookbook shoot - so, props to our lovely team for being able to put these outfits together! :) The constraint with shooting overseas, was that we had to make sure that everything we needed for the shoot could fit in Gwen's luggage. It's unlike shooting in Singapore, where we have the luxury of bringing many pairs of shoes and unlimited props - as long as they can fit in the car.

Our videographer, Rizza, chose the 2 locations - Hyde Park and Soho. Another tricky thing about shooting overseas, is that we don't have the luxury of scouting out the location prior to the shoot. Rizza went with his gut and we were so lucky that everything went smoothly. London was extremely picturesque, so it was no problem finding cute little spots to film. The weather was also amazing (about 18 degrees Celsius but really sunny!) so we didn't feel tired at all from the shoot!

Of course, all this would not have happened without the efforts from our lovely model Gwen, and videographer Rizza. So thank you guys, you helped make all this happen! It was fun taking Ellysage to London, we hope you enjoyed the lookbook as much as we did filming it! Meanwhile, here are some behind-the-scenes visuals!

6 Tips to get School-Prepped!

It's that month again, where the school gates reopen to welcome students to yet another year! Whether it's your first year at a new school, or your final year of tertiary education, it's always essential to stay prepared and ever-ready for what' to come. So we have compiled some of our top tips for you to stay focused and ready to take on every day of your upcoming school semester. :)

TIP #1: Sleep well, eat clean, and exercise

It's the mantra for a good body and a focused mind. We know the sucky feeling of waking up super early in the morning and feeling like you haven't rested enough, especially if you have another long day ahead of you. Never underestimate the power that good sleep can do for you. Your body requires sufficient rest in order to be ready to take on the next day.

Eating clean is also essential. No need to go out on extensive diets, just be sure to pop in a little bit of fruit here and there, and as always - everything in moderation. A colourful meal with assorted vegetables, fruits and meat is all you need.

Exercise might just be a word that everyone dreads. But once again, there's no need for hardcore gym sessions or marathons on a daily basis. If you have no time, simple exercise circuits can be done at home, to still keep your body moving, and your blood pumping. You could be watching your favourite show on TV, whilst doing simple sit-ups during every advertisement break, or you could simply do a bit of before-bed yoga - anything that you feel comfortable doing.

TIP #2: Have breakfast!

"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day."

A quote you have always heard. It's a simple step to take everyday, but it'll make a whole lot of difference. Having breakfast in the morning kick-starts your body, and provides you with enough energy to overcome the challenges ahead. It has also been proven that having a hearty breakfast gives for higher concentration and focus in class!

If you are always about to rush out the door, a simple bowl of cereal could do the trick, paired with an orange for some healthy sugar-rush!

TIP #3: Write notes!

It doesn't matter whether you're in lecture or in class; taking notes is always a good habit to have! Documenting what happens makes for a clearer mind, and it's also easier to see everything on a piece of paper. If you're forgetful, this tip can come even more in handy! And it doesn't just have to be notes. It could be lists, or little bits and pieces that you choose to write with pen and paper.

Psst, writing notes also gives you something to do, and keeps you occupied during classes so you won't fall asleep. ;)

TIP #4: Go easy on the coffee!

It's easy to get dependent on that cup of steaming hot coffee, after all, it's what most of us rely on for a quick pick-me-up. But it's essential to drink just 400mg of coffee a day - that's 4 cups. In fact, drinking more than the healthy amount could be more harm than good! Too much caffeine in the body could result in restlessness, insomnia and even stomach upset.

TIP #5: Don't forget to chill out!

With piles of work to complete, or lists of things to do, it's more important than ever to have an outlet for the stress. Whether it's having brunch with a bunch of friends, or even spending some solitary me-time reading your favourite book; spending time doing something else other than work is important. It helps you clear the mind, and at the end of the day, it'll make you feel more refreshed!

TIP #6: De-clutter

You don't need to be a neat-freak to heed this tip. Naturally, messy spaces would lead to messy minds. If there's clutter where you work, you'll find it harder to concentrate. Ditch that messy paper pile, and those stack of books collecting dust. You can even get mini shelves, or book dividers from bookshops.

And there you have it! Those are our 6 tips for getting yourself ready and prepared for a brand new school year. We hope that you may succeed in whatever your goal is, and that your school year will be a brilliant one. To more As and more happy memories!

A Sneak Into April | #Styleguide

Hey ladies! It's the beginning of a new month, so it's only apt to bring on a brand new style guide! With April comes a brand new school year for some of you lovelies, so in this guide, we bring you school-appropriate, wearable styles for your school days.  Featured in this style guide are apparels that you can look forward to seeing in April's launches, so keep your eyes peeled for some awesome pieces to keep in your wishlist! :)

Of Checks And Stripes

Checkered and stripey prints will honestly never go out of style, and you can never go wrong with them either. So why not combine both stylish prints into one! We got out checkered vibes from our upcoming Feyth New In Style Jacket, which is also perfect for cold air-conditioned classrooms. Keep warm and cosy without losing out on the style factor! We decided to layer our Feyth New In Style Jacket with our Alic Winterland Dress, which is a great mix of monochrome and a timeless shift dress shape. Of course, every good outfit needs a pair of awesome kicks to finish it all off, so why not go for our Blakely Black Metal Shoes in black for a clean finish. Don't forget our Elianna Back to School Backpack to throw you laptop and all your school necessities in.

All Casual

In Singapore's weather, shorts are an essential. Our Jojo Perfectly Frayed Highwaist Shorts are perfect for that! It's a simple staple pair of shorts that every girl needs in her wardrobe. And of course, we all know how it's like when you just roll out of bed on a Monday morning, where all you'll wanna wear is a simple, casual cosy top - nothing too dressy. Fret not girls, we've got you covered. Our Cherleen Fuzzy Buzzy Top and our Callie Red Alert Shirt is a Monday-must-have. Tops like these are just a no-brainer; simply throw on and go! And you won't need to worry about looking messy too. Long-sleeved tops always have a way of making you look effortlessly put-together. What's a day in school without a trusty ol' bagpack? Our Ysabel Zipper Bagpack is just what you'll need for school. With its easy fuss-free single zip, all you'll have to do is throw in your school needs, and you're all ready to go!

One Piece Wonder

It's hard to look consistently presentable when you're up for school 5 days a week.... We feel ya. But hey, those days are what simple dresses like these are made for! Take our Layla Drama Dress for example; it's simple and timelessly black. There's no need for much thought when it comes to throwing it on, just pair it with a simple necklace and you're all good! Our Mia Back in Black Dress is also perfect for lazy days. It's comfy, it's stripey, and it has pockets. What more can you want from a dress?? All you have to do now is throw on our Oralie The Hobo Bag and our Zion Zig Zagged Shoes for the finishing touch. With such minimalistic, simple outfits, it's also good to give your lips an additional pop of color, so a nice rosy shade will do!

Printed Colours

Cheery colours can sometimes be all your need to start a day right! Get your dose of florals with our Lillian Finders Keepers Dress and our Anastasia Keepsake Night Dress. Dresses like these make you look instantly dressy and girly without much effort needed! Just let the cute prints speak for themselves. We especially love how they're structured. A classic, flattering shape and an array of colours, with our Jenica Weaved Sandals to end the outfit off well!

With a new month comes new beginnings, so let's start it fresh! Don't forget to drink lots of water, and to always get plenty of sleep! We will also be blogging about some of our top tips for staying focused and all prepped for school, so don't forget to keep a lookout for that! In the meanwhile, stay sweet. <3
