Shades of May | #Styleguide

April surely went by in a flash! It was a seriously busy month for us! Our popular-demand Ellysage Exclusive apparels like our Fleur Off-shoulder Dress and our Luna Fit to Flare Dress arrived for us to mail out to new homes! We are also currently in the midst of something pretty exciting so... stay tuned!

The Pantone Spring Colour Report for 2015 has recently been out, and it's full of cheery, understated and wearable colours for the season! Therefore, we've incorporated some of these shades in this styleguide, complete with upcoming apparels for the month of May! Shall we begin?

Navy Nabbed

Classic Blue has been true to its name - quintessential. You've seen it on almost everything, from skirts, to tops, and even sneakers. So it's only natural for us to have a little tinge of navy in our May launches! Our Onora Purple Haze Dress is lightweight and airy, perfect for twirling around and beating the heat in! Whereas our Wylie All Blues Dress and our Briar Fair Square Skirt are perfect for more put-together days, where you need more structure and style. A bag is essential for every look, so why not throw your must-haves into our Oralie The Hobo Bag? Go with a bold red lip to compliment the blues, with some silver accessories!

The Fundamentals

It's fun to play around with colour, but we never stray far from the basics! Titanium and Glacier grey are some of Pantone's spring colours, and we totally agree. Grey hues are easy to match, and are a staple to own. Try our Soren Baseline Dress for shape and texture. If you're looking for something preppy and sophisticated, then this is for you! Cardigans are great for Singapore's unpredictable weather, thus we are totally in love with our Elerie Funday Cardigan in Grey! Knits are the texture to go for this season, despite it being spring. Don't fret, wear it without worrying about being too hot and bothered with our Zena Half Time Dress. Sometimes, all we need is a simple crossbody that'll be small and handy enough to carry around, but also spacious enough to store everything we need. In this case, the Snow White Lies Bag is perfect! Go with gold or silver accessories of your choice, and a girly pink lip to add a pop of colour. We also think wearing pretty, colourful shoes are another way of slipping colour into your look!

Seeing Red

Marsala might just be one of our favourite colours this season, simply because it looks good on anything! Jewel tones like this one are great for the wardrobe, especially if you're afraid to go all out with colours! Our Elerie Funday Cardigan in Red is a number not to be missed! Same goes for our Lux Lightfire Top. Knitted spags like these are all the rage these days, and we can see why. The texture is to-die-for, and we love the loose, airy cutting, which makes it perfect for Singapore weather! A maroon-hued bag we are loving this season would be our upcoming Cordelia Crossbody Bag. It's simple, and timeless. Marsala goes extra well with black, so slip on our Emma True Form Shoes in Black for the finishing touch!

Coralled Crazy

Say yay to cute, vivid summer colours! We're definitely jumping onto the bandwagon for this one. Our Atticus Grande Bag is a great way to add a pop of pink hues to your wardrobe without getting too wild! It's wide enough to keep all your bag-essentials and more. That's definitely got our thumbs up! Same goes for our Elyse Handy Sling Bag in Brown. It's really lightweight, and perfect for a lunch date out! If you'd like to even out the bright tones, then throw on our Taye Black Knight Dress and our Riona Rock Em' Boots in Black! They're perfect for neutralising your outfit palette, especially if you're not going for something too daring!

And there you have it! Those are some of our favourite spring colours this year, and a selection of our upcoming apparels and bags that reflect them! We hope you're just as excited as we are for a brand new month. As always, happy shopping, and take care! <3

Our Blogger Picks!

Do you follow us on Instagram? Been seeing stylish fashionistas sporting Ellysage apparels and wondered how you can get your hands on them too? Well.... just for you fashion hungry stylistas, we created a Bloggers Pick section awhile back so you can browse and shop them on one single page! Here are some of our favourite selections from our Bloggers Pick page. :)

Nobody ever gets tired of cats, and this pullover proves it! With two adorable shades of pink and blue, and cute kitty faces printed all over the comfy pullover. Brenda pulls this pullover off (pun intended) flawlessly by pairing it with a pair of denim short and some casual sneakers! It's perfect for a lazy Sunday brunch with some friends!

Twirl like a princess in the perfect girly dress that every girl needs! We love how it looks on Joanna! Doesn't she just look great? This dress is a one-stop option for any day out. No need to worry about piecing an outfit together.

This pullover might just be one of the sweetest ones we've ever released! *winks* Cute pullovers are always a must-have. They never fail to add a pop of colour and life into your wardrobe! We love how Hui Yi dressed this pullover with a pair of simple denim shorts. An everyday look that's quite great for most days!

A simple understated dress is the simplest of all, and the easiest to wear. Our Cathleen Sherlock Holmes Dress features a flared skirting, a smart collar and long sleeves. So it's all up to you to dress it up or dress it down! Shenny chose to wear hers with a little black belt, adding a girlier, more defined touch.

To say this top is a staple is an extreme understatement! The simple fit, stripes and comfort of this top are just some points to name. Whether you choose to pair this top with a simple denim short or some torn boyfriend jeans, you'll never go wrong. Joanna wore this top with some shorts and basic sneakers - a simple and easy look for any day. And plus, it comes in 3 elementary colours!

To The Land Of Crumpets! | Ellysage Goes to London #BTS

We know you've been wondering.. how did we manage to do a shoot in London? We received so many questions on our Ask.fm that we decided to write a longer blog post for it!

Our co-founder, Sam, was travelling to the lovely city of London for personal reasons, when it just so happened that our model, Gwen, and her up-and-coming videographer friend Rizza were dropping by too! It didn't take much for the ideas to start flowing. Thus began the exciting journey to create a the Ellysage Goes to London Lookbook!

If you have yet to watch it, show us a little love and click on the little play button right below!

Ellysage London Lookbook from RZZ Productions.

Prior to the shoot, Gwen popped by our office to collect some outfits that the team prepared for our lookbook shoot - so, props to our lovely team for being able to put these outfits together! :) The constraint with shooting overseas, was that we had to make sure that everything we needed for the shoot could fit in Gwen's luggage. It's unlike shooting in Singapore, where we have the luxury of bringing many pairs of shoes and unlimited props - as long as they can fit in the car.

Our videographer, Rizza, chose the 2 locations - Hyde Park and Soho. Another tricky thing about shooting overseas, is that we don't have the luxury of scouting out the location prior to the shoot. Rizza went with his gut and we were so lucky that everything went smoothly. London was extremely picturesque, so it was no problem finding cute little spots to film. The weather was also amazing (about 18 degrees Celsius but really sunny!) so we didn't feel tired at all from the shoot!

Of course, all this would not have happened without the efforts from our lovely model Gwen, and videographer Rizza. So thank you guys, you helped make all this happen! It was fun taking Ellysage to London, we hope you enjoyed the lookbook as much as we did filming it! Meanwhile, here are some behind-the-scenes visuals!
